President Trump and senior members of the Department of Homeland Security said they plan to move forward with other plans to rescind the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. The announcement comes after the Supreme Court ruled Thursday in a 5-4 decision that the administration could not rescind the program because it failed to provide adequate justification.

Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf said the agency would follow the Supreme Court’s ruling on DACA but was still looking to “end an unlawful program.” “At no point in that decision did they say that the program was lawful,” Wolf said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “They simply didn’t like the rationale and the procedures that we used. And I find that a little troubling.” Wolf said Trump had ordered his department to find a way to end the program in a way that could not be blocked by the court.

President Trump tweeted on Friday his administration will be submitting “enhanced papers” in a new attempt to end the program. He has the power to do so through executive action, as the Supreme Court simple ruled on the method through which the program was ended. DHS Acting Deputy Secretary Ken Cuccinelli said they would move quickly to put options in front of the president. Politico, Associated Press
