G-1145, E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance

Attaching a G-1145 form to USCIS documents will provide immigrants with texts or emails when their other immigration forms are accepted.
-> This article is part of Documented’s Glossary. We want to make it easier to understand the U.S. immigration system. If you want to know more about different visa types and immigration terms, please check our library here.
-> To find useful information for immigrants, such as where to find free food or legal representation, check out our master resource guide.

The G-1145 form or E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance is a form, clipped in front of other applications filed with USCIS, that is used to request a text message and/or email when USCIS accepts other forms. The service is only available for forms filed at facilities in Lewisville, Texas; Chicago, Illinois; and Phoenix, Arizona.

The form requires your name, last name, full middle name, email address, and your phone number.

An e-notification will not include any personal information, including the applicant’s name, because neither email nor text are secure enough to transmit personal information. Instead, the notification will list the following: “USCIS: your case was received + a receipt number.”
