Immigration Court Operational Status: Check Hours, Location, Contact Info

The Department of Justice provides an easy way to check the operational status, hours, location and contact information of every immigration court in the U.S.

There are a few dozen of immigration courts across the United States. How do you know the operational status of each immigration court? The Department of Justice lists each court with its hours of operation, location and contact information. Here is how to find out important details to support an upcoming visit to immigration court.

On the DOJ webpage for Immigration Court Operational Status, the left-hand column enables a user to filter the list of courts by state. For example, if you click on “NY,” you will see six immigration courts across New York State, three of which are located in New York City.

On the right-hand side of the page, you can see “Operational Status Map and Court Listing.” Below that is the “ZIP Code Search,” where you can put your residence’s ZIP code. The results will then be filtered to the courts in the area near you.

If you scroll down the page, there is a map and a description of all the immigration courts in the U.S. The immigration court’s operational status and address are listed directly on the page. You can also see more details of the individual court you are interested in by clicking their links, where they may publish more contact details and important announcements.

The courts in NYC are located in downtown Manhattan. Their respective links are: New York – Broadway, New York – Federal Plaza, and New York – Varick. You can see the opening hours, how to get there, and building access. The staff directory and their contact information are also available.

Please note that the above information only applies to the case of checking the court status. If you want to check your case, you should consult the “Automated Case Information” website, which requires you to put in your A-number.
