This week, the Caribbean culture in Brooklyn will be at its fullest with colors, food, music, and other artistic performances representing the Caribbean’s diversity at the West Indian Labor Day Parade.
The largest Caribbean carnival in the United States is happening this year after a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
More than two million people are expected to be at Eastern Parkway on Monday, September 5 to dance to the rhythms of soca, reggae, afrobeats, dancehall, Haitian Konpa, and others.
From Thursday, September 1 to Labor Day on Monday, 5, here are the parade events the West Indian American Day Carnival Association has set up:
September 1:
Vibes with Voicey Concert The Concert New York: Soca and Shayo

Junior Carnival Parade
The parade “assembles at KINGSTON AVENUE and ST. JOHN’S PLACE and then continues on St. John’s Place, making a left on FRANKLIN AVENUE. On FRANKLIN AVENUE, proceed to PRESIDENT STREET and make a right on PRESIDENT STREET. The parade continues on PRESIDENT STREET into the BROOKLYN MUSEUM.”
