Documented is excited to partner with New Immigrant Community Empowerment (NICE) for this year’s Education Resource Fair — a back-to-school community event that helps students and families prepare for the upcoming school year.
The fair will take place on Friday, Aug. 22, from 12 p.m to 4 p.m. at 82nd Street Academics, located at 81-10 35th Ave., in Jackson Heights, Queens.
Families can enjoy:
- Activities for children
- Backpack giveaways
- Free school supplies
- Resources tables
- Medical screenings
- Support services
In addition to free school supplies, attendees will receive Documented materials created for the event with how-to guides about navigating the school system. These materials were developed based on feedback from readers of Documented’s Spanish-language newsletter, Documented Semanal.
