One man was receiving medical attention after he was shot by federal officers in The Bronx on Thursday, the New York Police Department said in a social media post.
“At around 4 p.m. today, there was a shooting involving federal law enforcement agents in the Marble Hill neighborhood of the Bronx,” the police department’s post said. “The NYPD was not involved in the incident and was not on scene at the time of the shooting.”
“The individual who was shot is at a nearby hospital and is currently conscious and receiving medical attention,” the post continued. It was unclear which hospital was treating the shooting victim.
A spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security didn’t immediately return a request for comment.

The shooting occurred not far from the rooftop parking deck of a Target store where federal immigration agents sometimes muster before heading into The Bronx to make arrests, according to immigration activists..
A video posted to social media appeared to show the chaotic aftermath, with a crowd gathered as NYPD officers rushed to a car and carried a man, seemingly unconscious, out of it and into the back of a law enforcement vehicle.
“Put pressure,” one officer is heard to say as they load the man into the back seat.
“This is an unconscionable and incredibly serious situation,” said Mayor Zohran Mamdani in a statement on X. “I have called the President; when we speak I will demand that he ends all ICE enforcement actions in our city. I will not stand by while ICE agents terrorize our communities.”
“We expect federal authorities to provide a full and transparent accounting of the circumstances surrounding this incident,” Gov. Kathy Hochul said in a statement.
