Family-Friendly Places to Watch the World Cup in New York City

A guide to free, city-sponsored public events to watch the 2026 World Cup, including food, music, and art in all five boroughs.

It’s official, New York City has World Cup fever. The city is buzzing with excitement and visitors from all over who have traveled to our city to experience this once-every-four-years tournament. In response to the soccer frenzy, City Hall has launched various initiatives to help New Yorkers and visitors get the most out of this experience, including more than 100 free watch parties across the city. This guide compiles a list of free, family-friendly locations to watch the World Cup, by borough.

Manhattan

Essex Market World Cup Screenings

Date: June 19, June 25, June 27, June 30, July 5, and July 19

American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) World Cup Watch Parties

Date: Most days through the World Cup Finals in July

Activities: Large-scale screenings of nearly all World Cup matches in the museum’s main theaters. Tickets are free for New York State residents. The museum’s main exhibitions are open late as well.

La Marqueta World Cup Screening

Queens Botanical Garden World Cup Quarterfinal Screenings

Activities: Quarterfinal match screenings, including afternoon and evening matches. Free admission to the gardens.

Corona Plaza DOT Summer Street Watch Party

MoMA PS1 World Cup Finals Screening

Date: July 19

Queens Borough Hall World Cup Finals Screening

Date: July 19

Activities: World Cup Finals screening and activation in front of Borough Hall. Food vendors will offer meals for purchase. 

Staten Island

Staten Island Museum World Cup Family Friendly Watch Party

Activity: Large-scale screening of games.

World Cup Bronze Finals Watch Party at Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden

Date: July 18 at 5 p.m.

Activity: Family-friendly, picnic-style screening of the World Cup Bronze Final, with food trucks and a large outdoor screen.

Back to the Beach World Cup Edition

Date: July 19 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Address: Midland Beach, Staten Island, NY

Activities: Family-friendly World Cup Finals celebration with live viewing of the championship match, children’s rides, interactive kids activities, food vendors, and live entertainment. Outdoor event with tenting planned in case of inclement weather.
